Independent Sales Rep Position

Cafe Publishing, media company and creator of modern bestsellers, is seeking to go into 2004 dynamically by rolling out a new nationwide Business Development & Sales organization. This organization will be focused on expanding into new accounts in non-traditional areas for publications (vs the traditional bookstores, museums, and libraries). We seek an experienced business development & sales rep to generate sales and establish territories for several of our new book titles and other projects. In particular, they will be focused on developing business with upscale gift shops & boutiques, including: design stores, travel & lifestyle stores, gourmet food shops, children's stores, etc.

We won't go so far as to say our books sell themselves, but they tend to be an easy sale to the right target markets. Our ongoing challenge has been in getting enough resources to contact them all on a regular basis, while managing our other opportunities.

Our firm is growing organically, which means that we expand as we need to, and we keep our overhead lean. We pay competitively for performance, and have a reputation for quality. The persons we are looking for have 2-5 years of experience in sales and business development in either the gift trade, gourmet foods, or publishing (special sales), and are self-starters who can deliver continual results. They must be articulate and always professional, and have experience in dealing with high-end boutiques and managers. They also must have the creativity and insight to spot new opportunities for special sales into large accounts.

We're seeking to hire talented Telemarketers to secure music lesson accounts for us. We are a music teacher referral service providing teachers in all 50 states including Canada. This is a telecommuting job so you need a reliable computer with DSL connection and a phone with long distance service.
